Gas i admit does cost a pretty penny b/c it chugs.
Overall, by 2008, they pretty much fixed all the little nagging issues. Most of these issues are seen throughout the 5 series models although some issues are specific to the. Of course with any car maker the first year of production normally shows the most problems. I've had issues but they are all minor.
